Off topic Mongolian adventures

by admin on November 30, 2009

For no particular reason I thought I would add a mention for next summers adventure.    I will be driving a fully kitted out Ambulance from this sunny Isle (OK maybe not so sunny today) from London to Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia along a reasonably convoluted route, you can see the general details here.

It’s going to be a most excellent adventure however more importantly I will be donating the Ambulance to charity at the end of my journey and will also be raising funds for Macmillan cancer support along the way.  If you would like to help out with fund raising then I know a lot of people will be extremely grateful, not least me!  There are two ways you can help now, either by donating to Go Help who are helping me get to Mongolia or by donating to Macmillan if that’s more your thing.

I’ll be blogging along the way to keep everyone up-to-date with my progress, hopefully some agile & lean thoughts too not just ‘saw another yurt’…

Welfare Scrum

by admin on November 26, 2009

What a refereshing change to see someone giving a little back rather than doing two days training and then running off and purporting to know it all…

Tobias Mayer has been running Welfare Scrum for a while now and it should get more attention.   He’s quite rightly not offering free courses (we appreciate free things far less than those we pay for) but he is offering courses at a substantially lower rate than many of the normal training companies.  For those of you who are currently out of work either by choice or otherwise and are thinking about the CSM its definitely worth a look.

November 26, 2009

I’m looking forward to catching up on the latest thoughts of some of my favourite lean thinkers next Tuesday at the Lean & Kanban exchange hosted by Skills Matter.

Conflict and communication within Agile teams

June 13, 2009

An excellent article by Lyssa Adkins discusses learning to live with and accept conflict within Agile teams.
In Unsolvable Conflict on Agile Teams Lyssa explains why it is wise to accept conflict as a natural and normal facet of a close and growing relationship by contrasting that of an Agile team with that of a marriage […]

Welcome to Agile Memes

June 13, 2009

Hi, welcome to the Agile Memes blog.
For somewhat ridiculous reasons that I wont bore you with, I have been forced to take down my previous blog in its entirety.
So it’s back to the whiteboard, out with those post it notes (or not, but we’ll come on to that later) and a little retrospective, a touch of […]
